The 10th Africa Liberty Camp 2025
Date/Time: 24th - 27th, July 2025 |
The 10th Africa Liberty Camp 2025 is a transformative 3-day residential event bringing together 100 young Africans at Flight Motel Entebbe. This camp provides a platform for seminars, workshops, fireside talks, and engaging discussions aimed at fostering a free society in Africa. The event is dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of Linda Whestone, whose contributions continue to inspire the ideals of liberty and progress. Participants will have opportunities to network, share ideas, and gain insights from thought leaders across the continent.
The camp features focused sessions, including a workshop on "The Role of Government in Society," attended by 30 selected participants, and a seminar for 50 participants exploring "The Institutions that Make a Free Society." Additionally, a discussion on the impact of books in spreading ideas of liberty in Africa will encourage intellectual exchange. An essay competition invites 30 young Africans to evaluate the benefits and challenges of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) for the continent's economies. This camp promises to be an inspiring gathering for young leaders driving the future of Africa.

AFRICA LIBERTY CAMP ESSAY CONTEST ON THE BOOK FOUNDATION OF A FREE SOCIETY BY EAMONN BUTLER.
At the Africa Liberty Camp, we champion the principles of a free society and free-market ideas through engaging activities such as essay-writing competitions, panel discussions, and workshops. These initiatives aim to inspire and empower participants with the knowledge to foster economic liberty and entrepreneurial success.
A free society, grounded in the principles of individual liberty, limited government intervention, and free markets, creates a fertile environment for businesses to thrive. Evidence consistently demonstrates that freer societies experience greater economic development compared to their less free counterparts.
In such societies, governments focus on protecting property rights and enforcing contracts—key mechanisms that provide entrepreneurs with the security and confidence to invest and innovate. By guaranteeing these protections, a free society incentivizes hard work, risk-taking, and long-term investments, driving both personal and economic prosperity.
